Unit 8 - Write about an experience

In 2011 my family and I went to do rafting in Sort. It was very fun and exciting because we lived toguether for a weekend.

First, I'm going to explain to you what rafting is:
Rafting is an adventure sport that is practiced in a river in a plastic boat. You can go therre with four or six people. These people have to paddle hard and the river current is what moves this boat.
Normally, this sport is practiced when the river flow is high to move this boat easly.

Second, I'm going to explain to you this fantastic weekend.

First we left Girona, and we drove for four hours. When we arrived in Sort, we had lunch and during the rest of the day we visited this town. That first night it rained a lot.

The next day we started the sport very early and it was cold. We climbed the mountain by bus. And my family and I, went down river with a monitor.

This descent was very funny and unforgettable.

And finally, the last day we went to the swimming pool in the hotel.

I want to repeat this lovely adventure!

Unit 7 - Write an opinion essay

The government plans to introduce school on Saturday mornings in order to impove the level of education. In my view, this would have some negative consequences especially for students.

I believe that a minimum or two days a week are necessary. To rest if they put another day to go to school, the students will do a revolution because sometimes we need to disconnect of school and teachers.

I think that the only poitive of this new day of school is that it will help to raise the level of the students.

Cris - Yes, sure. The changing rooms are over there.
Adam - What do you think of this coat? It isn't too long, is it?

The walking dead

If you're reading this then 2012 wasn't the end of the world... so you can relax and enjoy some of the many apocalyptic films and TV series. The Walking Dead is one of the best. Now in its third season in the US, t is still playing to record audiences.
Based on the iconic comic book series by Robert Kirkman, it is scary, funny and addictive. Naturally there is blood and violence (it is rated 16 in France) but it also makes you think.

How do humans live together when traditional institutions and authority are gone? And how difficult is it to kill a loved one, even if that person is now a zombie?
